Overview
Metallic epoxy is part flooring and part art. Fine metallic and pearlescent pigments are mixed into a clear epoxy, poured onto a prepared base coat and then manipulated by hand with rollers, trowels, brushes and sprayers. As the pigments move and settle, they create swirls, ripples, veining and depth that shift as you walk around the room and as the light changes through the day.
Because every floor is created live, no two are identical. We can steer the look toward soft, cloud-like movement, bold lava-style flows, or a refined marble with crisp veining. Colors range from silver, pewter and charcoal to copper, bronze, champagne and deep wine tones that work beautifully with a red, black and white design scheme.
Metallic floors are a favorite in Maricopa casitas, great rooms, home theaters, game rooms, wet bars, salons, boutiques and car showrooms. They also make a striking statement in a collector's garage. Under the art is a durable, seamless coating that is easy to clean and stands up to everyday living.
Benefits
Metallic epoxy gives you a luxury finish without the cost and upkeep of natural stone, and it is far tougher than most decorative flooring.
You choose the colors and the style of movement, and we create it on-site. Your floor will not look like anyone else's.
The look of polished marble or stone with no grout lines, seams or joints to collect dirt.
The high-gloss finish bounces natural and artificial light around the room and makes spaces feel bigger.
Under the art is a thick epoxy coating sealed with a hard topcoat that resists spills, scuffs and stains.
A dust mop and damp mop keep metallic floors looking polished, no waxing or sealing required.
A clear UV-stable topcoat keeps metallic colors from ambering, even in rooms with big windows.

Made for Maricopa
The biggest risk to a metallic floor in Maricopa is sunlight. Standard epoxy can slowly yellow under UV exposure, which shows up first in lighter metallic colors near windows and sliding doors. We prevent that by finishing every metallic floor with a clear, UV-stable polyaspartic or aliphatic urethane topcoat that keeps colors crisp and clear.
Temperature matters during installation too. Metallic epoxy has a limited working time, and hot weather shortens it. We schedule pours for the cooler part of the day and control the room temperature where possible, so we have the time needed to work the pigments into a beautiful, even pattern.
Installation
Metallic floors take more steps and more skill than other systems. A typical room takes two to three days.

We review metallic samples and photos of past floors with you, choose colors and agree on the style of movement you want.

The slab is diamond ground and all cracks, holes and low spots are filled and ground smooth, because metallic finishes highlight every flaw underneath.

A primer seals the concrete and a tinted base coat sets the background color that the metallic pigments will float over.

Metallic epoxy is poured and worked by hand using rollers, trowels and other tools to create swirls, veins and depth before it begins to set.

A clear UV-stable topcoat protects the design, sets the gloss level and adds scratch and stain resistance.

Popular metallic looks include silver and charcoal for modern interiors, champagne and pearl for a soft marble feel, copper and bronze for warm desert tones, and deep reds blended with black and white for bold, dramatic spaces. Two or three colors can be layered together for extra depth.
We can also create specific effects such as veined marble, lunar or cloud textures, and flowing river patterns. If you have inspiration photos, bring them to the estimate. We will be honest about what is achievable and how your slab and lighting will affect the final look.

Pricing
Metallic floors cost more than flake or solid colors because they involve more material, more prep and far more hand work. The prep has to be meticulous, since metallic finishes magnify every crack and low spot underneath.
Square footage, room layout, the number of colors and the complexity of the design all affect the price. Your written quote will spell out each layer, so you can see exactly what you are paying for.

Care & longevity
Metallic floors are easy to maintain. Dust mop regularly to remove grit that could dull the gloss, and damp mop with warm water and a small amount of pH-neutral cleaner. Avoid vinegar, citrus, ammonia and soap-heavy cleaners, which can leave a film or dull the topcoat.
Use felt pads under furniture, put mats at exterior doors, and avoid dragging heavy items. If the topcoat ever shows wear after years of use, it can be lightly sanded and recoated to restore the gloss without touching the design underneath.

Where metallic shines

Metallic epoxy looks best where people can see it and where light can play across it. Casitas and guest houses are some of our favorite metallic projects in Maricopa, because the floor instantly makes a modest space feel high-end. Great rooms with large windows and sliders also show off metallic movement beautifully, especially in the soft light of early morning and evening.
Game rooms, home theaters, wet bars and man caves are natural fits. The dramatic finish suits entertainment spaces, and the durable coating handles spilled drinks and heavy furniture. Many collectors also choose metallic for a dedicated car garage, pairing a glossy floor with good lighting to create a showroom feel.
For businesses, metallic floors make a memorable impression in salons, boutiques, restaurants, tasting rooms, offices and showrooms. They are easier to keep clean than many commercial flooring options, and a custom color palette can echo your brand.
Metallic is less ideal for spaces that are mostly hidden under furniture or rugs, or for working garages where a flake finish will hide dust and wear more effectively. We will always give you an honest recommendation.

Each metallic floor is unique because the pattern forms as the pigments are worked by hand. We can control colors and the general style of movement closely, but the exact pattern will be one of a kind. That uniqueness is part of the appeal.
Like any high-gloss smooth floor, metallic epoxy can be slick when wet. For kitchens, bathrooms, entries and garages we can add a fine anti-slip additive to the topcoat that improves traction while keeping the look.
Yes. Metallic garage floors are popular with car collectors. We use a durable topcoat designed to resist hot tires, but keep in mind that metallic shows dust more than flake does.
Epoxy alone can amber with UV exposure. We finish every metallic floor with a UV-stable topcoat to protect the color, which is essential in sunny Arizona rooms.
Most single rooms or garages take two to three days, plus cure time before furniture or vehicles return. Larger or more complex designs may take longer.
Absolutely. Deep red, charcoal and pearl white pigments can be layered for a dramatic, high-contrast look, or softened into blush and dove-grey tones for a more subtle finish. We create a sample board so you can see the palette before we pour.

Many Maricopa projects combine systems. A flake garage often pairs with a coated patio, and a commercial floor may need warehouse-grade coatings in the back.
